Holy hotcake house! The new home of BPMC is now BPMCGLITCH.COM. It’s been a long time coming… and sure, it’s not pretty, but this thing is hanging on by a thread. I think this theme stopped getting updates about six years ago. Anyways, from there you can purchase the newest releases; the HDK-01 digital glitch video fx processor, the modified v-02HD and the Video Percussion Computer. I’ll be working on archiving this site and possibly importing the new site back to archive.glitchart.com once I figure out how. Could see that taking me a couple years though, haha. For the time being, please, get cozy over at BPMCGLITCH.COM and consider this site a thing of the past video bbs.

It’s October 31st over here and I’ve got two updates for ya’ll videofreaks!

First, BPMC will be getting a new site next month and this site will be getting archived in some fashion. I’m still not entirely sure how to pull off the archival so chances are the old site will be down for a while. That said, the new site will feature some revised kit, permanent purchase links for the HDK-01 & modified Roland V-2HD as well as a NEW web address. I’ve promised it before but I’ma promise it again… new video content and documentation. I’m working on it! It’s been extra hard to set time aside outside of building to get any new demo content done but the time has come…. gotta get some fresh demos up for everything going on the new site.

Second, sales on the old site are on hold until BPMC can get caught up on outstanding orders and launch the new site. A big priority is getting the rest of the TELEs and the PAUPSTATIONS out before 2024 hits. As it stands I’m not sure I’m going to pull it off… but I’m giving it my all folks, so hang in there. BPMC will be occasionally posting pieces for sale on the BPMC reverb account so be sure to follow it. I will be posting Video Nasties, Basic Cables & refurbished Fluxus Duos on there shortly to keep things afloat.

The HDK crowdfunding initiative is well under way with full funding already achieved! Eternal grattitude to all who have already supported. That said, the time to purchase one is now. First and foremost…. TELEVANDALISTS are shipping. It’s going a lot slower than planned due to hand assembly but they are indeed beginning to ship and you WILL be notified with a tracker as soon as yours is ready. They are expected to ship all through August and into September. Thanks everybody for hanging tough with the one man show. In an effort to offer all ya’ll who threw down more bang for your buck I’ve capped this release at 100 LEGIT… giving it a bit of a limited edition high yield investment feel. Ha!

Second, current availability is reflected in the stock on the site. Nothing is available beyond what you see on the site unless posted up in the BPMC instagram stories or on the BPMC gear overflow instagram.

Third, based on my web presence, it may currently look like BPMC is straight defunct. In reality, BPMC has never been busier with a lot of long term projects nearing completion. So far this year I’ve been prioritizing development/building over keeping up appearances… trying to establish a blanace, but it’s a weak link of mine for sure.. I’m finally moving forward into the next phase of BPMC with new digital hardware, new revamped upcycled designs, a NEW WEB SITE and new glitch video assets for video production. I’m also finally getting a hand from the community! I’ve got the talented mister Peter Clark (@Enternull) on all GUI designs going forward. I’ve also got the man the myth the legend…. Brownshoesonly of LZX & Bitchin Bajas fame generously working on select control board PCB layouts. There’s even a rumor I’ve got some assembly help going forward… just a rumor though. *please please please be true hehe*

Fourth, what’s up with the HDK-01? Pending Indiegogo approval. Any day now. Still waiting. :-/

Apologies it’s been so quiet on the Paup front. As a solo entity I’ve been having a tough time maintaining an internet presence at the same time as building gear and feverishly developing the new gear. With gear drying up and getting obscenely expensive I’ve felt the compulsion to get these new designs wrapped up with the quickness. That said, I am shooting for June to be a big month with a number of new releases finally debuting.. perhaps even a pre-order or two.

This May is another sales-hold month for BPMC. In an effort to continue to get caught up on past orders and the development of the new gear I will be holding off on taking new orders this month. It’s not ideal but once again, doing the army of me thing can be slow-goings. Fret not though loyal glitchers, I am still slingin’ Fluxus DUOs which are pre-built and Fritz Decontrollers which are hand built and ship within 3 weeks time. If neither of these options tickle your fancy however hang in there… I’m on the cusp of posting pre-orders for an assortment of exciting new manufactured releases I am super proud of and hope you will enjoy. It’s the culmination of the last few years of development over here at BPMC HQ and I’m super excited to share more with ya’ll super soon… More on that shortly, for real!

PAUP! May 2022

First off, Paup working around the clock…. lots o’ orders are in. In an attempt to get caught up on outstanding orders and to continue to develop the new-ness, ol’ Paup will be taking April off from sales (minus the Fluxus DUO as they are pre-built). Will be back up and running and significantly caught up in the fair month of May (*please tell me it’s almost surf season again*). In the meanwhile, I need a little time to get all this glitch slung. I fell ill there for a little bit and on top of some parts delays it all set me back a little bit. As it stands things are a little delayed right now and while I’m doing my best to respond to everybody in a timely manner it may take me a minute. I appreciate everybody’s patience on the order front and apologize if ship times are exceeding the initial target ship date. Be with you shortly.

I recently had the distinct honor and pleasure of collaborating with the legendary Richard Devine on a multi-sensory piece for Moog synthesizers. The project is called “Cathodoluminescence” and features Richard with an original track (composed on the Moog Grandmother and the Matriarch) and myself contributing the visual element. Originally we had filmed a live performance of Richard’s in Durham, NC for Moogfest. We had used an interactive vector graphics based installation of mine as the backdrop of which I performed on for the shoot. I got involved in the post production, one thing led to another and the live performance evolved into an entirely different affair.

The visuals were created over a number of sessions with an assortment of fun gear in the mix. I had built a couple of interactive video walls for Moog in the past and I wanted to pay homage to them by incorporating a lot of simulated video wall elements into the piece. I also made a point of incorporating a number of the modified gaming systems into the mix. The floating man motif that I return to is from a rare consumer game development platform for the Japanese Sega Saturn that I’ve spent a lot of time with. There is some circuit bent Playstation 1 & 2 in there as well… even some 3DO (let me know if you can pick it hehe). The dominant system in use here is the modified Dreamcast I crafted back in 2016.

The Video Nasty is featured heavily as it is the lone source of analog sync corruption throughout the video wall sequences. As I’ve said before it’s got one of my favorite sync corruption looks in the BPMC arsenal. There is a number of fun DVE units featured in the creation of things as well including the Pinnacle Prism, the Fairlight CVI and some Sony DME series units. Probably some other shit as well, hard to keep track.

The piece was composed as I was packing up the Pauper Palace over a number of sessions in an apartment that kept catching fire. Regardless of the fire it was a productive time and I’ve got a lot of unused footage from the sessions. I thought it’d be nice to piece together an alternate edit of the video using the original live track Devine and I were first working from (which is another banger). Something for the BPMC youtube channel a little later on in the year perhaps.

It’s been an honor working with Moog over the years. I grew up playing an Etherwave theremin and saving my hard earned cash for a Moog Model D from Daddy’s Junky Music in Boston, MA. Big respect for Bob and the house that Bob built (no respect for the House Jack Built however… the f is wrong with Von Trier?). Besides the point but I missed meeting him by ONE session at RBMA a year before he passed away. Still haunts me! That said, much respect to Richard and Moog and thanks for watching.
